Full remapping service

The ECU is remapped to optimise economy and performance. This requires an on site engineer visit where they will down load the current ECU settings via the EOBD socket fitted to all modern vehicles. This extract is transferred to Cambridge via wireless laptop. The code changes take about 35 minutes including bench testing prior to being sent back to the enginer, who uploads the new settings in the vehicles ECU. The process from start to finish takes under an hour per vehicle. Multiple remapping is quicker and one engineer can do about 3 vehicles per hour. We keep the original ECU settings on file for any future reference and our engineers do not dismantle your vehicle in anyway.

Road Speed Limiter

We can electronically limit a vehicles speed. This feature is useful for larger fleet operators, for fleets that are trying to reduce wear & tear or increase the safety of their drivers. This solution is tamper proof and gives control to the fleet manager. Why would you want to see any LCV travelling at 80 mph in the fast lane with a maximum load, or towing a trailer?

Engine Speed/Rev Limiter

We can electronically limit the vehicles engine speed. This forces the engine to work at its most efficient, which for diesel engines, is lower down the rev range. Our limiter forces the driver to select a more suitable gear for a given road speed. The graph below shows how torque falls off further up the rev range. The harder the engine is revved the more fuel is used, so although modern diesels will rev up to the red line, the usable power is available at engines speeds below 3500rpm.



Driver Safety

By combining both speed and rev limiting products you can actually change driver behaviour in the real world, and not just by changing the wording on your fleet policy. This is most suitable for utility fleets and can assist with an employers Health and Safety and Duty of Care obligations as our products restrict usage electronically.

Certification - After installation of any of our economy products we generate a certificate that documents the settings applied to the ECU. This certificate is issued in electronic form and is specific to both the vehicle and fleet operator. For audit purposes we also store this certificate for 5 years as well as the original ECU settings.

For fleets which have a common policy and multiple drivers, we see typical cost savings well in excess of 10%.
