HOW WE DO IT...

Economy Tuning - Fleet Vehicles

Diesel Engines

These engines are capable of the most impressive gains from our software, up to 20% more economy and 30% more torque. This is because a diesel engine delivers most of its torque low down in the rev range and our changes take advantage of this.

Usable torque will be available much earlier in the rev range than a standard vehicle making for a much smoother and more economical drive. Our ECU changes will increase the engines ability to "pull" in higher gears. This is useful for towing, or for transporting loads typical in light commercial vehicles (LCV) as it allows fewer gear changes in certain driving conditions.

Driver safety will be improved by installing absolute limits for vehicle speed, meaning drivers will be limited to a pre agreed speed limit. LCV are subject to different speed limits to passenger cars and car derived vans. ()

Petrol Engines

Gains are achievable on these engines by up to 15% depending on the vehicle, engine type and usage. The vehicle will feel more responsive and with the power coming in earlier improving in gear flexibility.

As with Diesel engines driver safety will be improved by installing absolute limits for vehicle speed, meaning drivers will be limited to a pre agreed speed limit (ideal for pool, or job need cars).

In addition by introducing a rev limiter, you can remove the temptation for some drivers to go to the red line at every gear change which has a dramatic effect of increasing fuel economy.

Diesel & Petrol Changes

All of our changes are done well within the original threshold design parameters of the engine, so that long term reliability is unaffected

The ECU - the vehicles brain

A modern ECU controls all of the functions (see diagram below) of the combustion process and makes 1000's of calculations per second. It has sensors that gather data from air temperature, engine speed, throttle position and 100's of others and use this information to make sure that just the right amount of fuel is injected for the prevailing conditions. We allow the engine to work well within its design tolerance while releasing potential from the ECU that will make the engine more economical.
